Dr Landman es el director del área de Urología Mínimamente Invasiva del Departamento de Urología de la Universidad de Columbia. Él sirve como medico adscrito de tiempo completo miembro de la Presbyterian Hospital de Nueva York , y es el Director del Fellow de Cirugía oncológica de mínima invasión de la Universidad de Columbia.
El. Dr Landman es un experto reconocido internacionalmente en cirugía renal mínimamente invasiva. Ha sido profesor visitante, conferencista, y ha realizado demostraciones en vivo de cirugía alrededor de los Estados Unidos, América del Sur, América Central, Europa y Asia. Su interés clínico incluyen todos los aspectos de la cirugía oncológica mínimamente invasiva con especial hincapié en el cáncer de riñón (kidney cancer) y el cáncer de próstata. En la reunión anual de la Asociación Americana de Urología, es el director del curso de enseñanza " Biología de masas renales, Anatomía relevante y Algoritmos de tratamiento." Este curso internacional está diseñado para enseñar a los médicos de todo el mundo técnicas avanzadas para el tratamiento de cáncer de riñón (kidney cancer)
El. Dr Landman ha publicado más de 100 artículos sobre el tema de la urología mínimamente invasiva, así como más de 50 capítulos de libros. Él es el director del laboratorio de cirugía mínimamente invasiva en Urología de la Universidad de Columbia que se dedica a la mejora de las técnicas y la tecnología asociada con la cirugía mínimamente invasiva.
Sus intereses en investigación se encuentran en el cáncer de riñón (kidney cancer), isquemia renal, la energía y los dispositivos asociados con la cirugía mínimamente invasiva. El trabajo de laboratorio incluye la labor de mejoras en todos los aspectos de la cirugía laparoscópica renal. Las innovaciones obtenidas en laboratorio de cirugía mínimamente Invasiva en urología de la Universidad de Columbia se han traducido en una mejora en técnicas de biopsia, tecnologías de ablación, tecnologías de imágenes para visualizar los riñones y la preservación de la función renal que se utilizan en todo el mundo de hoy. Por su labor innovadora el doctor Landman recibió el Premio Arthur Smith para la creatividad y la innovación dinámica en Endourología en el Congreso Mundial de Endourología, celebrada en Amsterdam en 2005.
